The rise of racist rhetoric in Europe isn’t just a social issue. It’s a full-on attack. It’s hate, plain and simple. Politicians and the media are stoking the same fires that led to genocide before. This isn’t history repeating itself by accident; it’s deliberate. These narratives are back, and we’ve seen where they lead: to violence, to persecution, and to the Genocide of millions. We’re on the edge of something horrible, and if we don’t wake up now, we’re walking straight into the next Genocide.
Europe’s got a long history of using racism to justify their War Crimes. Look back at the 20th century. The Nazis pumped out racist propaganda to prep the population for the Holocaust. They didn’t start with the gas chambers; they started with hate-filled films, articles, and posters made by European Citizens for European Citizens. Jews were dehumanized until Europeans were fine with them being rounded up and murdered. The media fed the hatred, and people swallowed it - No Questions Asked-. This wasn’t some fringe thing. It was everywhere and systematic. Regular people were brainwashed into seeing Jews as a threat, and it made it easier for them to stand by while millions were slaughtered and/or take part in the slaughter.
That’s the blueprint. And now? We’re seeing the same damn thing. Racist propaganda all over again, only this time, it's immigrants and Muslims under attack.
Let’s talk about that recent video from Germany’s Interior Ministry in Bavaria. What starts as a simple question: whether Muslim women can wear makeup, quickly spirals into something disgusting. A Muslim woman in a hijab is portrayed as weak, controlled, and crying, while this grotesque caricature of a man looms over her, looking like a predator. He’s portrayed as a menace, an ugly barbarian, reinforcing every harmful stereotype about Muslim men being violent and controlling. And at one point? The woman falls into his mouth. Think about that for a second. She’s literally swallowed up by this dehumanized, monstrous figure, as if her whole existence is consumed by him. What kind of message is that. Germany?
For those Muslims who call Germany home, this kind of state-sponsored racism adds to the Islamophobia they face and deepens feelings of alienation and marginalization. It’s not just offensive; it’s damaging to their place in society. Many likely feel betrayed by their own government, which is supposed to protect its citizens, not fuel racist narratives.
